We Were Promised Integrity, Remember?

Not that I believed it for a second, but it has come to my attention, Gentle Reader, that despite all your experience to the contrary you may have believed them when Bush said:

''We want to restore honor and integrity to the White House."

Or when Cheney said:

''It is absolutely essential for us to do whatever has to be done to restore honor and integrity to the Oval Office."
Or, the big whopper from Bush (actually a big whopper, there have been so many, who can keep track?):

''Should I be fortunate to become your president, when I put my hand on the Bible, I will swear to not only uphold the laws of the land, but I will also swear to uphold the honor and dignity of the office to which I have been elected, so help me God."
So what happened to all this integrity? Because I sure as hell don't see it, and neither does Derrick Z. Jackson.

I have noted in several posts the exact same theme of yours in this one. Why would they lie when the truth would sound better. It boggles the mind.

Anyway, I just thought I would drop this comment and let you know that your efforts here are outstanding. I noted on my Cbox that I will link to your blog in my personal blogroll. We can all help each other with our standings in the directories by linking to each other. I have 3 other blogs and will add you to those when I get the chance.

Keep up the good work.

I have asked the sae questions many times myself. Where is the integrity ? Honesty ?

I'm from Ohio, and when I woke up the day after the 2004 election and saw on the news that Bush had won and Ohio was the deciding state, well I honestly felt sick to my stomache.

Great blog. I've linked here from my site.

Didn't believe him before, during or after any of these comments. It still boggles my mind that he was elected and RE-ELECTED. Mr. 12-step felt sick to his stomach. I went to work, looked at a good friend and saw the fear in her eyes as she did mine. We began to cry and hugged looking for some sort of comfort. It still brings chills thinking about it. He scares me.
Peace...............
