Funny, I Could Have Sworn I'd Heard This Before

The recent rhetoric about Iran certainly seems familiar:

Saddam has used chemical weapons, not only against an enemy state, but against his own people. Intelligence reports make clear that he sees the building up of his WMD capability, and the belief overseas that he would use these weapons, as vital to his strategic interests, and in particular his goal of regional domination. And the document discloses that his military planning allows for some of the WMD to be ready within 45 minutes of an order to use them.

Oh, wait! My bad! That was the last war! Here's what I mean to quote:

``Using those 50,000 centrifuges they could produce enough highly enriched uranium for a nuclear weapon in 16 days,'' Stephen Rademaker, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for International Security and Nonproliferation, told reporters today in Moscow.
Yeah, here we go again. Only, like any serial killer, ol' Chimpy is escalating from invading countries that are no threat to us to first-striking them with nuclear weapons.

Sixteen days. Pull the other one, it's got bells on. Oh, wait - he said that Monday, so it's down to twelve days now!

Give him a few months, and he will bomb Iran too. What a warmonger!

Even if we do not bomb, to threaten a nation with nuclear weapons is madness. The madness of our King George may be the death of this experiment in nationhood.
