Yes, He Can Be That Stupid

What's wrong with this picture? Maybe because this is the guy that was calling it WWIII, and Chimpy bought it.

Could someone, anyone, explain to me why it is so important that the foreign policy of the United States of America be based on the fear, perceptions, and demands of terrorists in general and Osama bin Laden in particular?

Osama bin Laden wants WWIII to unify the Islamic world under hardline religious fascists, so let's give it to him at all costs. We can't pull out of Iraq because he'll think we're weak, even though his stated goal is to pin us there in a quagmire of our own making and bleed us to death and bankrupt us while Iraqis incensed at foreign occupation do all of his dying for him. (Well, that part's only fair because they're doing most of the dying for us, too - but I don't expect a murderous terrorist to care about that. I hold us to a higher standard, unfashionable as that is lately. But I digress) The nebulous terrorist threat beheads people, so that leaves us free to torture them. And now, solely because they wear towels on their heads and bow to Mecca, we're calling Iran an ally of the terrorists, and we're prepared to nuke them if we think they're trying to build nuclear weapons.

Does this sum up our foregn policy? Am I the only person that thinks this is utterly insane?

Impeach, hell. We need to commit him, before the insanity becomes incurable - if it isn't already.

Technically, Iran does finance terrorist organisations, such as Hezbollah. Of course, pretty much every Arab regime finances them, but we don't like Iran, and that's reason enough.

People like you need to be committed, you are so ridiculous thinking if we just sit back and let them attack us over and over again it will somehow stop them.

What, you mean bending over and doing exactly what the terrorists want?

Got news for you, Jon, that's exactly what we're doing.

And come on, you can do better than that. I get worse personal attacks than that before breakfast.

Oh, and Cranky Brit?

Hezbollah, yeah, good point.

Al-Qaeda? No, not so much. In fact, shortly after 9/11, they were offering to help us round Al-Qaeda up. Look how well that turned out.

Oh, I know. It's just when you say 'terrorist' people think 'Al Quaeda', but there are other options.
So the President is telling the truth. First time for everything.
